Svetlitsa

A one-level house of 177 m² near Moscow: a glass pavilion between a pale brick garage and a pale brick bedroom wing, in a garden of birches and pines.

Key challenge

A family house on one level, with no steps from the car to the bed, that opens completely to the summer garden and stays calm and sheltered through the long winter.

Concept

Three low volumes in a row. The garage and the bedroom wing are closed, in pale hand-made brick; between them stands the living room, a glass pavilion 7.8 m wide with glass on both long sides, so the garden runs through the house. A bleached-larch canopy marks the way in; a chimney wall shelters a screened porch.
