Smol
A 175 m² house in charred black timber near Moscow: a long block closed to the street, a louvred box above it, and a kitchen-living wing turned towards the garden.
Key challenge
A house that keeps its back to the road and gives everything to the garden: one large room for the family, quiet bedrooms, and a calm, dark outside that disappears among the trees.
Concept
One material outside: charred timber with a soft sheen, like a dark coat. A long single-storey block faces the street with strip windows and opens to the garden in sliding glass between piers. Above it a first-floor box hides behind vertical louvres. A wing turned 30 degrees holds the kitchen-living room, glazed on both long sides; the glass triangle between block and wing is the front door.
